Nova Scotia has been a long-time source of coal for use domestically and abroad. The Nova Scotia coal deposits are divided into the Sydney, Cumberland, and Pictou Coalfields. Canada has one-sixth of all the coal reserves in the world, almost as much as the entire continent of Asia, and second only to the United States. () Hydrated Sulfates in the Sydney Coalfield, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.   The layout is based on Jefferson on the Sydney Sub of the Canadian National in the s before the line was sold to the Cape Breton and Central Nova Scotia Railway. Since the bench work was reused from a previous layout, I had no control over that part of the design and had to design the layout to fit the 24" wide shelves with a 24" aisle.
